I had a visit today from the loss adjuster who is handeling my insurance claim. The meeting went well and he seemed very understanding.

What is a loss adjusters role in an insurance claim? Is the loss adjuster the person who decides on weather or not a claim should be paied and if so the ammount to be paied out?

Thanks

  1. The Loss Adjuster is appointed to handle the claim ON BEHALF OF the Insurance Company.

The Adjuster is not independent. That's not to say that they won't handle your claim in a fair manner - just something to remember.

  2. YES YOU GOT IT IN ONE.

  3. That's exactly what an insurance adjuster does.

We investigate the claim - determine what coverage applies - write the estimate for damage and if appropriate - pay you.
