2. What is the standard unit used in physics to measure distance?

3. If a tree falls in the woods, does it make a sound?

4. What falls faster when dropped on the Moon, a hammer or a feather?

5. What is the voltage of a standard AA battery?

6. Can you cool off your kitchen by leaving your fridge open?

7. Have you ever seen the Milky Way? If so, where?

So i got these questions today in my first day of physics and some are argumentable and opinions but some i really don't know like 1, 2, and 5

thanks for any responses I thought these were pretty interesting

  1. 1. Kilograms (SI Unit)

    2.Metre(SI Unit)

    5. 1.5 volts

  2. 1. kg

    2. m

    3. If the definition of sound is a vibration caused by movements and forces exerted on objects in contact with each other, then yes

    4. If the moon were a pure vacuum, then they'd be the same. However, the moon has enough mass to have an incredibly thin atmosphere, so there would be some atmospheric resistance against the feather, so the hammer would fall faster

    5. Hmm, let's whip one out and see...1.2 V for an energizer rechargeable AA battery

    6. Haha, your fridge works by transferring heat from the inside part to the back, and it's not 100% efficient, so the answer is no, because it takes more energy, and heat, to cool the fridge.

    7. I've seen parts of it, but seeing as our world is in an arm of the milky way, there are parts that surround us, and it's impossible to see ALL of it, unless you were observing from some other galaxy.

  3. 1. grams

    2. meters

    3. Yes

    4. Neither, fall at the same rate, with no atmosphere there is no wind resistance.

    5. 1.5V

    6. No

  4. kilogram

    meter

    yes

    same speed

    1.5v (nominally)

    no

    yes
