Internal carburator leak?

i bought a new chinese unbranded 200cc quad . the other day a petrol pipe fell off the carb. it was in an awkward spot so i took the carb off and replaced the pipe securely .now all the petrol in the tank flows unstoppably up the hole out of the bowl that the throttle needle sits into and out the air filter. it still leaks now even after shaking and replacing it several times and removing the bowl to check a valve for obstruction . it is out of its one month warranty. any ideas for fixes appreciated. if i cut a bowl off a lawnmower carb and put it in line on the feed pipe would it work?

  1. Your problem is "Chinese Made"

  2. The petrol is leaking from the carb because there is something wrong with the float or the float needle. Dismantle the carb, and make sure that the float needle is sealing in it's hole properly. Make sure the float is able to move freely. if the float is a hollow one, hold it close to your ear and shake it. Listen for fuel shaking about inside. If there is any there, then the float has a hole in it, and needs to be replaced. If it all checks out ok, then check the float level. Adjust it so that when the 2 arms of the float are parallel with the side of the carb, the little tongue on the float just touches the needle. That at least will put the float level somewhere near right. reassemble and test.

As an after thought. Check and make sure you didn't put the float in upside down. I did that once.

  3. check if the overflow  pipe is blocked, if it is theres your problem. But if its still under warranty just get a new one.
