Question:

Internet Explorer v7 freezes up immediately?

Windows IE just started freezing up a couple of days ago. I've had no new installs. I'm running Windows XP. When I launch IE, nothing loads, and task manager indicates that IE is using 99% of the processor time.

I suspect that I have a corrupted file, but cannot find any kind of fix, nor even mention of any similar problem.

I have deleted my temp files, updated my antivirus and run a full scan, with no detected security risks. I've restarted (many times!) to no avail. I'm at a loss.

And my daughter is getting really ticked at me for taking so much time on her laptop to try to find a solution!

  1. Okay, first

    Download MOZILLA FIREFOX

it is so much faster and superior to IE.

  2. Try going to add and remove programs and uninstall IE7 then reinstalling it from www.microsoft.com only if u have another browser, if not, try downloading a different browser on a different computer to your USB Device and saving it on there then plugging it injto the laptop then installing it on the laptop try the other browser and see if it will work, may be a stupid idea from me...

A good sugestion for another browser is Mozilla Firefox at www.Mozilla.com or google Firefox 3

  3. Get firefox because it is more secure, loads faster and is more stable. Download and a cool article on Firefox http://imperviouscomputer.com
