  1. It looks like your desktop network configuration got switched from IPv4 to IPv6.  Depending on where you are in the world, that won't work in most cases.  In XP go to control panel, open up Network connections and right mouse click on your connection that you use to get to the internet.  Select properties and look for the TCP/IP protrocol lines.  Uncheck the IPv6 and check the IPv4.  Open up a cmd window and type in ipconfig /release and then type in ipconfig /renew.  This should get you connected correctly to the router and you will have a functioning IP address.  Your gateway is 192.168.1.1 so you should be getting an address like 192.168.1.100.  If it starts with a 169.x.x.x, i means that your pc is not communicating with your gateway router.

Are you running the latest drivers for your wi-fi adapter?  Have you tried reconfiguring the authentication to your wireless router?  You may need to delete the connection and build a new one.

  2. msn is for dial up not high speed. use internet explorer and it should work.
