Internship in new york?

i am a juniour at an international school in kenya. i have maintained an A in english through out highschool an i am now in IB higher english. i would like to get an internship/summer job in manhattan at a newspaper, publishing company etc. any ideas? i am US citezen hoping to get in to NYU
