  1. It will be just like if you took your ipod to another computer and plugged it in; you can download all of your music onto the new computer from your ipod. Just make sure you click the right button when it comes up when you plug it in.

  2. your ipod will clear.  Try using tune ranger to transfer what is on your ipod to itunes

  3. you will need to have a 3rd party tool to help you copy songs in your ipod to computer as itunes blocks the ipod-to-computer transfer, here is a review of top 5 ipod  copying softwares(windows/mac): http://www.ipodtocomputer.net

  4. Yes, your iPod will be cleared of all data *if you have it sync automatically.* BUT there's a way to work around that. Simply hold down the Shift+CTRL keys when you connect your iPod to the computer, hold them for  a few moments - until your iPod is done loading. Download SharePod from http://www.getsharepod.com to transfer your data back onto your computer. Voila.

Word of advice, set your iPod to "Manually Manage" and next time you lose your music you won't have to worry losing it from your iPod.

  5. wipe it off,

and no the songs wont go on.
