  1. should have gotten a zune.

  2. either one of your ears just works better than the other or ya might need to get ones that fit snugg in your ear instead of them crappy ones that have the speaker cover slip off them, trust me i just got a pair of the snug ones and i can hear the sound quite well in both ears and i don't even have the volume all the way up most of the time,oh and it could possibly be just the 80GB ipod itsself because my lost one did that to me in only one earphone and it wouldn't let me turn it back on again and it kept freezing, mine was only a 30GB too,lol if thats the case i hope ya have more money to buy a new ipod or just easily trade in the headphones for snugger ones.

  3. that happens to me sometimes to i have the same ipod. If you twist the ear phone part that plugs into the ipod until you can hear out of both ear phones. It works for me.

    try it~!

    good luck :]]]

  4. My ipod shuffle did the same thing.

i got told by the apple peeps that its a software malfunction or something and you may need to take it to an apple shop if its under warranty.

    good luck.
