Ipod trouble?

I bought a 2nd generation ipod nano in December of 2006. I also got a 2 year replacement plan on it just incase something went wrong. Yesterday my ipod just quit working. The battery is charged, I tried to restore it, and pushed the center button and the menu button at the same time but it still refuses to reboot. When I plug it into the port in my computer it works fine, but as soon as I remove it, it continues to not work.

My question is, will Best Buy give me a new ipod if my mother (I'm 15) came with me to get a new one (of course we have the printed confrimation sheet that came via e-mail when we ordered it) but my dad's name is the first one on the credit card we used to pay for it and also the name under which the ipod was ordered. So will they return it? I really don't want to tell my dad I may have broken my ipod.

They won't return it , but probably try to fix it first (which I doubt they'll be able to do) or replace it.  Ofcoarse this is if your warranty hasnt expired yet. But you said your father has to go, I think what will happen is they won't say anything if you and your mom take it there but let's say they tell you to drop leave it there and theyre going to try and fix it and call you when you can pick it up, then I beleive your dad will have to be there bc when you pick it up then they ask for id. Atleast this Is what happen to me when we dropped my bros laptop off and I tried to pick it up. Btw I know you don't wana tell your dad but that's why you all got the insurance for, plus consider yourself lucky that it didint break a few months later when your warranty is up. Plus if they can't fix it you may get a new model iPod!!!!

They should return it for you if you have the confirmation sheet, and a valid ID ie. Drivers License to prove the relation to the credit order.  You most likely will end up having to tell your father though.
