  1. The irish republic was formed in 1921.

There is Christmas ,Easter, Halloween and lots of bank holidays throughout the year.

There is no official comedy channell, but there are thousands of comedians.

I am not sure about schools in Dublin 1 and 2, as I live in Limerick

Catholism is the a type of Christianity. Other types are protestants etc etc

Not all irish are red heads but the irish that are red heads, it is because the celts were red heads. It means if you have red hair or freckles you are descende from a celt.

    Hope this helps

  2. That land mass is the same age as the land mass all over the world. The State of the Republic of Ireland will be 100 years old in 2021.

Christmas would be the main one, but Easter is also important. Hallowe'en is also celebrated here, but not officially. Hallowe'en as in the Irish version with 'Penny for the Pooka', not the plastic Disneyfied 'Trick or Treat!' version.

Comedy channel? There isn't any particular one.

We refer to secondary education as secondary school, not high school. Most of these are still segregrated, boys in one school, girls in another. Most school require uniforms as standard.

Catholicism is another form of Christianity. Personally I've seen many differences between the two, as it seems to me that Christians are fairly easy-going people, but Catholicism is a bit sneaky when it comes to doing things to children you shouldn't (speaking as a girl whose maths teacher was a nun with wandering hands) . However, it's hard to distinguish the two.

It's not true that most Irish are red-heads, it is rare, but most Irish families get a redhead or two in every generation. Red hair is a recessive gene, and won't be got rid of that easily. (I'm one myself, my parents were both dark-haired.).

  3. Ireland is the same age as the rest of the earth.  Most Irish do not have red hair.  I have been to Ireland, I have red hair and MANY people I met ALL OVER Ireland found my red hair unusual.  The people in Ireland also are not unusually short, they are not leprechauns, they are not all heavy drinkers either.  They have in screen television channel guides.

  4. Catholics are Christians, it's simply a denomination of Christianity.  Some people simply describe themselves as Christians, there are other groupings with different ideas how to worship or practise their beliefs, Protestants, Catholics, Quakers, Methodists - at the end of the day, we all believe in Christ, we're all Christians.

Most of the Irish are not red heads, red hair is very rare

Comedy channel: no specific channel in Ireland but they have access to the satellite and/or cable via Sky & several other companies - it's possible to access Paramount 1 & 2.  Irish channels do carry some comedy programmes & American or British sitcoms.

Can't answer your questions about schools.

Holidays in Ireland, major one is at Christmas, Easter and there are several public/bank holidays throughout the year

Could you expand on what you mean by how old is Ireland?  There are several answers depending on context
