Is 'youtube downloader' safe

Question

i have a good friend who says anything from download.com (which is where i'll be downloading from ) is safe..i'm really cautious when it comes to sites/downloads i'm not familiar with so i want your inputs

also please don't suggest anything else, i've narrowed it down to this one

www.dowenload.com and you will find everything there..........you can dowenload anything you want in a safe and without virus  as it is tested and proved to be safe before thet posted it for dowenload!!

theere are doing it for 15 years or more.
