Is Banos, Ecuador a dangerous town?

I am a solo femal traveller who spent 4 weeks in Banos during the Christmas fiesta times, primarily because it is the safest place I ever visited.

The people who live in Banos all work in the tourist trade are very aware of the need for safety for tourists, since it is their livelihood.

I am returning this year to continue my Spanish lessons.

I don't know the property you are talking about. I stayed at four places and liked the Hostal Chiminea best. It is in a quiet part of town near the main baths and close to the cathedral.

$6.00 got me a private room. They are all new, immaculate, there's a roof top terrace, free internet access, and a place to cook. They also have dorms for $4.50, which were very pleasant.

At any Banos was easily my favourite place in Ecuador.
