  1. YES.  Its  worth getting!

I was one of the first to get Tivo many years ago back when they offered a huge money saving lifetime subscription. They no longer offer one time lifetime subscriptions.  I believe the current monthly price to have the service is about $12 but that may be different with other DVRs.

I now own a high def dual tuner Tivo DVR.  I work evenings when my favorite shows are on so when I get home I can watch them all...and fast forward through all the commercials.  Also, when watching live tv you can press pause, go do the dishes, go take a bath, make a phone call, or whatever and when you get back you can continue from where you paused it and than fast fwd through the commercials until you're eventually caught up to live tv again.  (can you tell I hate commercials?)

You can visit Tivo.com to learn more about the different Tivo units and all that Tivo can do.

It will forever change the way you watch tv.

  2. If you don't have comcast Tivo is very cool. But comcast is trying to be more like Tivo so wait a little bit because they're going to partner up.

  3. I have one, love it, and would not live with out it! My husband has shows he tapes when he's working. My daughter likes her shows taped to watch on the weekends, because I don't let her watch much on school nights, and I tape shows at 8pm when the good ones are usually on, and I am putting my kids to bed. This way there is no rush ..when I get a chance, there, there waiting for me.

  4. well it all depends on you really. if your never home and always missing your favorite shows then yeah why not. you can set it to record while youre not home and when you come back all you do is hit play. dishnetwork offers a few dvr options. a reciever that records 150 hrs 250 or 350. but the catch isyou cant record 2 shows at the same time without changing the channel unless you have their newest reciever the 612 which you can record two shows at the same time on the same tv set and still watch something else. but like i said dvr ismostly for the person who like either to record alot or isnot home alot. but i think you will find it kool to have. i love it!!!

  5. My brother has one and he says that he wouldn't live without it.  He loves it.
