Is France politically afraid of Serbia?

Question

Serbia is asking for the opinion of Security Council about the legality of the recognition of Kosovo by some states (read: EU). France has stood in front of EU trying to stop such political move, threatening Serbia's entering into EU.

If France has recognized Kosovo busting away Serbia and Russia, giving soil to NATO, why does it fear some Security Council opinion on that?

Haha afraid of Serbia? oh wow this one is a first...jeez the things that you hear nowdays, if France was so afraid of Serbia it wouldn't try to stop it from entering EU because it would be scared that by doing that it will have some consequences from Serbia but obviously France could really care less about Serbia and it just doesnt like it. Do not distort the truth and look at things for what they are

I think they're actually afraid of the possible outcome and the whole thing with this new 'complaint' that Serbia is officially filing. They didn't expect it in their wildest dreams - given the fact that the whole of the EU&the US were sure we'd never question the illegal Kosovo secession this way.

They staged it, supported it and carried it out, and expected Serbia to swallow the bitter pill. My opinion as a layman is that our Ministry of Exterior did a good thing with this, because they took action in an unexpected way and are trying to take the whole thing in the new direction - back into the limits of the international law.

I'm glad we're displaying cool heads, suggesting diplomatic means but still remain firm and unshaken in our final goal - to get our stolen territory back. And that may be something they're afraid of: having to do the revision of the whole case applying the international law. They're afraid they're going to be ridiculed; maybe not officially, but at least the people who can see beyond the surface meaning and who support justice all over the world will know the difference.
