  1. there are 32 counties in ireland

six (fermanagh, antrim, tyrone, derry, armagh and down) are in the uk...they are in the north....hence the name northern ireland

    lol

the rest are in the republic of ireland and we have our own government taeshoch

(donno if i spelled that right...basically its a prime minister)

    called brian cowen

and a president called mary mcAleese

    =)

  2. are you for real asking that ? Ireland IS not part of the uk

  3. The Republic of Ireland is not apart of the UK just 6 counties up North are apart Of The UK

  4. Ireland is not in the UK but the Republic of Ireland is the country above Ireland.

  5. Ireland is divided into two different divisions. One being Ireland which stands on its own, and the other being the Republic of Ireland which is part of the UK.

If you are planning to travel to Ireland and the Republic of Ireland you will have to have pounds and euro with you. (Or you could always get you money changed at the airport or train stations)

  6. No Ireland isn't in the UK it is very near.

  7. no

  8. only the north of ireland

  9. part of it is...what is known as "northern ireland"

the rest is an independent republic

  10. Northern Ireland is in the UK

The Irish Republic is an independent country.  Both the UK and the Irish Republic are in the EU (European Union).  You don't need a passport to go from one to the other.

  11. no, the republic of ireland is not, but northern ireland is, but both the republic of ireland and the uk are in europe. There are 26 counties in rep. of ireland and 6 in northern ireland.

  12. hi you

a very small part of Ireland is in the UK the rest is the republic of Ireland

  13. Northern Ireland is in the UK the Republic of Ireland The South used to be part of the UK until 1921 when we were given full independance

in 1949 Republic of Ireland was declared a Republic

  14. Woah, Your Lucky The Republic Didn't Hear You Say That..:-P

  15. No. This question has been asked numerous times. Look at a map.

  16. Nope!! The southern reigon of Ireland is called the Republic of Ireland, and this is a totally independent country of it's own. In the northern reigon,it's called Northern Ireland, and the 6 counties up there belong to the UK,but they shouldn't be!! It should be a united Ireland!!!

  17. It depends on which bit you're talking about.

There is the island of Ireland which is divided into two bits, the six counties that form Northern Ireland are in the UK, the other 26 counties form the Republic of Ireland, which is an independent country.

Edit: yes, counties (county) are similar to states

  18. The part referred to as 'Northern Ireland' is in the U.K.

It should be pointed out that all of the north of Ireland is not U.K. For instance I live in Donegal which is in the north part of Ireland but is very much part of the Republic.Indeed some mistakenly think of Ulster as being entirely in the U.K. but Donegal is part of Ulster.I can see why it might be confusing.:)
