- I'm not good at Spanish and the minimum requirment is (3-4 yrs)

- I was thinking of learning Japaneses

- Is it harder to learn then Spanish

( i never wanted to learn Spanish and i think i have more motivation to learn Japanese)

- I watch japanese animes( reading subitiles) would that help my learning?

  1. Japanese is DEFINITELY more difficult than Spanish.  First off, their sentence structures are totally different, with the verb always going at the end of the phrase.  Plus, the alphabet is way more complex than Spanish.  Also there are a lot of diffferent syllables and no congutives in Japanese.  Plus there are numerous different forms of formality.

  2. NO NO NO!! ignore everyone. listen to this cause i know both sides:

anime really helps if you watch, read, and listen to if enough. i watch A LOT OF JAPANESE MUSIC VIDEOS, read manga, and watch an occasional anime, with reading about japanese things: geisha biographies, mangaka lives, japanese fashion, music trend, etc. BUT WHAT I BASICALLY HAVE TO SAY IS THAT japanese isn't hard to learn at all if you're into it. if you're into JAPAN itself, it's culture, ppl, etc. don't think EVER THAT IT'S TOO HARD. life is too hard. go and die. no. that's not how it works. ever herd of dieing is easy, but living is a struggle? well, that's how it works. if you have the drive, go and do it. passion is all it takes. any way, you have enough spanish to get on in life. some sort of asian language will help you greatly. 'variety's the key!'

and another thing is that if you pay attention, you learn that there are patterns, things that are repeated, and you learn to THINK japanese, knowing by heart that this combination of letters make this sound, and this kanji means this BECAUSE you just kno it by context clues, background, roots, and ect. really. japanese isn't hard.

last thing: IF YOU HAD THE NERVES TO STAND SPANISH FOR 3 YEARS BEING FORCED, THEN YOU CAN STAND JAPANESE FOR ONE YEAR EVEN IF IT KILLLS YOU STUDYING. trust me. when you do something out of your own will, you just feel better, it feels a lot different for a change, even if it wasn't japanese you chose, because it's new, you're FREE, the mood just changes everything.

  3. Japanese is extreamly hard to learn and you wont learn it just by watching anime. It must be part of your daily routine and so many people fail at learning it because they dont have nobody to practice with. To make this really simple. Japanese takes extream dedication to learn and it could take a year(s) before you could learn it. Drop out of spanish if you plan on learning japanese cause you will not be able to balance japanese while trying to learn spanish.

  4. Japanese is infinitely more difficult than Spanish. If Spanish is too much for you, Japanese will make your head spin.

  5. If you're picking up a few words (e.g. kawaii) from anime, that might make it easier, but there's a lot of subtleties - a lot of things that you hav to memorize. I've never taken a formal class in japanese, but I know  that its a lot harder than Spanish...

  6. Japanese is harder because it has totally different roots. But, if you enjoy learning it then you might pick it up faster.
