  1. No!

  2. He has the best offensive numbers among most of the second baseman that have ever played the game. I think so. But I don't think he is 1st ballot

  3. if they let jerks in then he is one.

  4. Yeah i think so

    BEST ANSWER ME!!!

  5. I say yes. He has the record for most consecutive 100+ RBI seasons by a second baseman I believe it is 7.

  6. yes he is one of the best 2b in the game for the past 7 or 8 years

  7. most homeruns by a second basemen of course he is. thats like asking the Rays are in 1st place. oh yeah i forgot if any team finished last for 10 years they would be nasty too

  8. maybe ... i think he has the most HRs ever by a second baseman .... might hurt him is the fact that hes a jerk

  9. yes he probably is, but he wont get in his first year or 2. Yes he is one of the best 2nd basemen ever, but now there are also good ones rising, and when he retires (if he ever), and when he becomes eligible, he wont be in his first year or even first 5. but he will eventually get in, but not soon.

  10. no

  11. NO He won't make it llok at Jim Rice and Ron Santo They aren't still HoF'er's and they both did better then Kent, so if they can't get in He can't get in.

  12. He's not a lock.

For him:  lots of HR for a second baseman, over 1500 RBI, over 1300 runs scored.  Won an MVP award.

On the fence:  only 5 All-Star games.  That's not a lot for a guy expected to go into the Hall.  He has never won a World Series.  Neither have a lot of guys, but it doesn't help him.  And he is now on his 6th team.

Against him:  He has never led the league in any offensive category of any kind.  This is unlike Joe Morgan and Ryne Sandberg, two other modern second basemen in the Hall.

He is generally regarded as brutal in the field, as though a fairly immobile first baseman was out of position at second.

He is generally regarded--fairly or not--as a jerk, a fairly bad guy in the clubhouse, and a liar (remember his mysterious "car-washing" injury).

Frankly, I would be a bit surprised to see him go in.  He will probably be pretty easily forgotten.

  13. He is a jerk, but his HR count certainly does the talking for him. Not much of a team guy, but neither were many of the HOF's. So yes, he was a feared 2B in his day and was eventually overshadowed when Bonds started cranking them out.
