No. I think it has chemicals in it & it needs to be purified. Also, it's impposible for that to happen because it is in a VERY frozen state.

Although we haven't run complex chemical tests on the water, you couldn't drink it anyway because it is frozen. If you brought it back to Earth, it would have to be purified for safety purposes.

All water is drinkable once you purify it enough, and martian water is no different. The question isn't whether or not the water itself is okay, the question is really just how to purify it to a state where it is drinkable. As far as I know, there are no particularly powerful poisons in the martian surface, so a fairly simple set of filters would be able to filter out enough dust and mud and salt and so on to make the water appropriate for human consumption. The water would have to be melted first, of course, assuming it comes from ice which it probably would.

Water cannot exist in a liquid state on Mars surface, therefore; it is not drinkable.  Just like "dry ice" (frozen carbon dioxide) water on mars sublimates, meaning it changes directly from a solid to a gas.

If humans were to visit Mars in the future they would have to find a way to get Martian water in a liquid state and after purification it would be drinkable.

Yes, it's the same water.  This is very good news.  If we build a base on Mars, that water should be drinkable as soon as it's melted (since there aren't any germs on Mars to contaminate it).

Water is water is H2O, drinkable depends on the stuff that's in it that's not water, which all depends just like here on earth.  Note that freezing separates out some kinds of impurtires.  Ever see clear ice crystals in a muddy puddle?
