I didn't know he was g*y.. he doesn't look g*y for me.. I am mexican and g*y and background could not be very nice for some of you.. because most of the people from australia or USA.. maybe are open minded.. but Australia has famous people very open about their sexuality.. I don't want to call them open.. I want to call them.. they are honest withb their fans or people who believe in them and btw mr michael is very hot.. a good sport man

He really deserved that gold. And maybe I'm being too sensitive, but I don't understand why his sexuality had to be drug into it. In the couple of headlines I saw they said something along the lines of, "Openly g*y diver wins gold." Why couldn't he just be the guy who upset China for the gold? I don't know, maybe it's good for g*y visibility.

And his bf and mum were in the stands cheering him on, it was great to see.

IT was also good to see that the news didn't make too much of a deal about it - they focused on the result, mentioned his mum and partner, and that was all.
