Is Michael Phelps really?

abnormal or retarded? Yeah, he's a great swimmer and I give him props for that. But it looks like he could possibly be abnormal or slightly suffers from down syndrome or something.

There is nothing wrong with him. He is ADHD and his Mom got him into swimming to help with hyperactivity. He is amazing and I have enjoyed watching him swim. :o)

Um, no.  He is genetically different, but most DS people don't grow to be 6'4" and have amazing ability like he does.

I dont think he a re-re. He's just very focused on swimming. By his own admission, he just eats, sleeps, and swims. A tad dull perhaps. He just needs to out more !!!

Michael Phelps is a lean mean swimming machine and the most decorated Olympian.  He is different, not average, but not abnormal nor retarded.

I love Michael Phelps.  I think he is one of the greatest olympians we will ever see in our time. He is an awsome swimmer and has took that sport to a whole new level. I think the problem is he has to many teeth or an underbite or something. I have a best friend that is the  same way.

I've wondered if he might have a high functioning autistic spectrum disorder.  That would make much more sense than Down's.  Autism can sometimes occur along with ADHD.  There's also an autism charity he supports.
