Why would any good player go to college when they can make money and gain professional experience before going to the NBA?

David Stern better accelerate his plans to conquer Europe...bankers be warned!

  1. its not dead yet, but its getting there, that jennings guy was smart not going to college.  If i were a basketball player i would do that.  You get paid, you dont have to be in a dorm with a bunch of weirdos u dont want to hang out with, and you dont have to learn anything besides being a basketball player.  Maybe College can somehow trick the players into coming, but i dont think it will happen.

  2. Sad To say it's getting there

  3. Good thing there will always be morons like you who underrate college education.  We really need people to flip hamburgers at the street joints and you sound like you have a lot of potential in that field.

Edit: Obviously you are not aware of the fact that 70% of ex-NBA players get into financial trouble within 10 years of retirement.  Why do you think Michael Jordan went back to school to finish his degree?

  4. I hope not. NCAA bball is the best thing ever. Who doesn't enjoy the thrillers of MArch Madness!?

  5. yes because one guy went to Europe instead of college.

  6. No, the NBA has dropped the ball on this one. Letting college kids turn pro early or high schoolers entering the draft. People complain about the NBA being watered down and it's because they aren't mature enough for the NBA and they become projects. The NBA did make the Developmental League but it's nowhere near where it should be.
