They're both basically the same only the 5610 is a slide. Go for the design  you prefer.

Nokia 5320 is a S60 Platform smartphone based on Symbian OS. You can install Symbian native and Java applications on it so that you can extend its functionality. I've been working on less powerful computers in my life :)

Nokia 5610 however is a Series 40 phone (Java apps only) and while there is no standardised definition of what a smartphone is, I would not call this phone a smartphone.
