Going on holiday to Peurto De La Cruz in October. Is the north of Tenerife really going to be overcast - or can I expect SOME sunshine??!

  1. The north side of Tenerife is generally a little cooler than the south as it faces out onto the Atlantic Ocean, there will probably be some cloud but it will be pleasant without the much harsher heat of the southern resort areas.

Its quite a long journey from the southern Reina Sofia Airport (assuming that's where you land) but it will give you a chance to see some of the island, you will probably head towards the Capital Santa Cruz before looping around the mountain and heading up to the north of the island, its a nice resort town that is usually less busy that the southern resorts, the large Lido on the sea front makes up for the shortage of beaches on this side of the island.

    Have a nice holiday.

  2. We travelled to Tenerife in August, but were staying in the south, but visited Peurto De La Cruz, and when we visited it was overcast, however it was still very nice weather, we thought it was just as hot, but with a cool breeze aswell, however, it wasn't very sunny...but on the up side it was still hot.

  3. Sometimes it might be cloudy, sometimes sunny. Why don't you check the weather for a good week of sunny temperature and then go?

    Hope that helps

  4. To be honest, there hasn't been much of a summer in the north this year.  it has been quite cloudy, no rain but cloudy.  It has picked up recently but the south is definitely sunnier.  sorry to dash your hopes but if its sun you're looking for you'd be better off in the south!
