I've been in Paris for 4 mths. I've meant and seen people of all nationality.  It's almost like being in NYC, but more beautiful and historical.  People who have said that, have never been to Paris.  Before I went there I've heard pretty much of the same story.  Best way for you to know is to go there yourself.

I have heard many people say that Parisians are rude and

snooty to Americans in particular.  We just returned from Paris for the first time--last month.  I found the Parisians to be helpful and interested in us.  I can say that they appreciate it when you try to speak their language--correctly--where possible.
