I'm not depressed but I have a constant nervousness/worrysome thoughts thoughout the day. My Doctor gave me 20mg of Paxil. I think it got rid of my panic attacks, but I'm not sure if it's helping MY GAD. Should I ask my dotor to increase it to 30mg? Do higher doses help with GAD or not?

  1. It's a great question, and yes, Paxil is often used in the treatment of GAD, but only your physician can make this determination as s/he has access to your medical records.  I don't have the benefit of this, thus I can't make a reasonable decision in the absence of sufficient data.  SSRIs like Paxil are rather effective in the treatment of multiple diseases including Depressive Illness, OCD, Anxiety disorders, etc.

If you have any questions if Paxil (Paroxetine) is sufficient (at a given dose) in the treatment of your symptoms/underlying illness, then you certainly should discuss this with said physician.

    I wish you the best.
