5 mos. old. Has not had first molt.

Cannot tell based on behavior. Lutino pearled. I didnt get enuf opinions the last time I asked.

it looks like a yellow girl, umm... check the link, im looking more into it. You gotta pay attention to the way it acts. Oh, how old is it? Girls usually lay eggs. lol

I don't know if it's the same with cockatiels but with parakeets, you can tell by if the top of it's nose is blue or a creamy whitish pink.

It's almost impossible to know it's s*x at such an early age, you probably won't be able to tell with this bird until after it's second molt. Generally male pearl cockatiels will loose almost all to all of their pearl colouring by their second molt, I assume it's no different for a lutino pearl. There is also the fact that males will mimic sounds, very few females pick up on this, if its a boy he should be picking up on this, try doing the wolf whistle a lot around it, if it picks up on this then you have yourself a male bird. Finally, there is DNA testing, you can take your feathered friend to the vet and they can do a s*x test on him/her and you will know some where between 1-3 weeks.

Unless you are using your bird for breeding purposes the s*x of the bird isn't the most important thing to worry about, it's the care and love that is.

i think it's a bit harder with cockatiels to tell by their appearane..

but i bought Pingu directly from a breeder, at 12 weeks old. As the breeder was constantly working with him, to get him ready for an owner, and he was also surrounded by the calls of lots of other different birds, as well as cockatiels, he picked up on whistling extremely easily. This led the breeder to believe that Pingu is male, as while the girls can whistle, they rarely do it as much as males do.

I am absolutely certain that Pingu is a male aswell, as he never shuts up!
