Is Toronto City big? because some ppl who've been there say that the main thing which represents Toronto is its downtown, but the downtown is very small.

  1. yes, quite big

  2. It sprawls into the GTA (Greater Toronto area) making Toronto large in area, and increases the number of people in the population.

Toronto itself isn't that big.  It doesn't take more than an hour or so to drive through it (providing you don't get stuck in traffic, which is brutal).  It's fairly congested, but nothing like London, New York or Hong Kong, compared to those, Toronto doesn't really compare.  There's always room to walk downtown without getting run over by people if you stop.

  3. The downtown area is HUGE compared to what it used to be when I grew up there half a century ago. It depends on what you're looking for & how you're travelling. Where I grew up I could walk to what was called downtown in about half an hour. Now, I wouldn't be able to walk there in half a day and yet I'm still considered to live downtown.

  4. I would say it is a big city, yes.

  5. Downtown is quite large.

Toronto, in general, is really large.

  6. I haven't been to Toronto in years but as I recall it's pretty big.  I believe the Greater Toronto Area has a population of around 5 million people.

  7. yes it is
