  1. no, lol, it's fun. Bring a jacket, because regardless where you go. iit'sll be freezing because  of the wind  that's fighting against the  lake, seas or w/e.

  2. I have been on about 20 cruises and have 3 more booked right now and I have not found any part of cruising to be scary.

Most of the cruise ship being used these days are so big that you do not even feel the motion of the ocean and the bigger the cruise ship the less motion.  Then the first order of business when you board a cruise ship is  a mandatory life boat (called muster) drill.  Every passenger has a life vest in his/her cabin and everyone is required to go get their life vest and go to the location on the back of their cabin door for the drill.  They explain exactly how to put the life vest on and you must put it on.  Then they explain the emergency signals.  The drill takes about 15 to 20 minutes and then after that the ship is ready to leave the port.

Cruise ships these days have way more life boats than they did many years ago.  None are like the Titanic which did not have near enough.  The life boats are enclosed (have a cover) and have the latest navigation equipment, including being motorized and not requiring rowing.

The ships these days have all of the latest navigation equipment that virtually prevents running into anything, unless the crew is just not paying any attention.  The cruise ships always have at least two people driving.

All of the passengers and staff on cruise ship are subject to a lot of screening, including FBI checks.  A positive ID is required of all passengers and the passengers' information must be provided at least 3 days before the cruise so there is time to do checks.  So the chances of crooks and other bad people getting on the ships is small.  In all port stops no one without the proper ID gets on or off the ship, not even crew.

Now that's not to say that if you leave your cash money on a chair someone will not take it.  It means that with normal diligence like you would have on any travel you will be safe.

  3. Cruises are not scary, they are a lot of fun.  You should worry about sea sickness, bring some pills, or stickers, or whatever with you.  Expect a good time and good food! :)

  4. I've been on a couple cruises myself. Everything is great. The people are usually nice and it's very safe on the ships let me assure you. The luggage people are very good at what they do so don't be worried.

Just be careful of the locals. They like to pray on tourists. But by no means don't be afraid of them. Just be cautious. Have fun on your cruise.
