electric guitars= awesome instrument. (depending on what guitar you get)

likely the more you want to spend the better quality you will get

i would personally start with an acoustic and then later move on to an electric guitar when you get good enough.  acoustics have a entire differnt sound to them, it depends on what you like.  i like acoustic guitars better, but they are limited.  same goes with an electric.
