I would have to say answering the phone is not a talent. I do think some people need to learn how to answer their phones in a business environment.

Only if you answer it like I do--  by playing "I Shot the Sheriff" on my flute when I pick up...  Any other way is so just lame.

Yes.  More or less.

One should be able to sound neutral, yet friendly when one answers the phone.  You can always pick up someone's attitude from their initial hello.

you know, im a little upset right now. you people are ignorant. answering the phone is a fantastic ability, and I dont think you give people enough credit. why do you think telemarketers have jobs and get paid for answering the phone? it is a talent. its a work of art almost. ya'll need some respecttt.

No, not at all, you pick it up and say hello. I've seen kids as little as 3 answer the phone pretty easy.

Yes there is a proper way to answer the telephone and most people don't bare that talent even practice just doesn't help......If you want people give you information you must know how to ask, Hello not yo wha up or pre programmed music the now how to answer the phone...........Blessings Yahoo
