Is anyone here neutral?

Question

It seems to me that everyone now is either siding with Boston or Lakers here. It's like a massive hate spree. Laker/Kobe fans trash talk so much about Boston, and Boston fans pick on Kobe. It's like the old Celtics-Lakers rivalry all over again.

Is anyone else here confused? Cuz I can't go anywhere without reading a question meant to insult a Laker or a Celtic. I mean the Ron Artest thing is the only thing to come up that isn't related to Kobe or the Celtics, and even then half the answers are like "Kobe is the best and Lakers will win the West".

Tell me I'm not the only one sick of hearing hate talk.

i don't know if anyone can be completely neutral- but i think that people have to be able to defend their position outside of that bias.

As a Laker fan for over 30 years- i have always, always hated the Celtics- but that doesn't mean i don't have respect for them.  It becomes childish to say they suck, etc.  i have respect for any true basketball fans and every group of fans has some obnoxious people who mis-represent the true fan...  Mostly people try to stereotype based on either their personal opinion or experience.  All sides are guilty of making fake accounts, ridiculous and unsubstantial rants.

It's irritating to me- because i spend a fair share of time on here- but the last couple of days- i've chosen to by pass a lot of questions- because they are just ridiculous.  Why answer a question like:  "Why are Laker fans g*y?"  responded to by:  "Why are Celtics bandwagoners, etc.?"    You even get ridiculous questions about Team USA-- like will Kobe's "selfishness" destroy team Usa- and it's like come on can't we even all get along and win the gold medal... sad!!!

It's ridiculous when you give an honest answer and people just give you thumbs down because they don't like who you root for, etc.  

There are some quality answerers on here- but definitely this wave of "hate" and "provocation" is not cool- and on my part i can only try not to fuel the fire.

i actually received a message from another answerer yetserday who was upset because his stance was that the Clippers will do better than the Lakers.  He quoted Shaq's lyrics- in his diss of Kobe- and so i responded by saying it's fine that we don't agree, let's see how the season goes, good luck to the Clippers.  But it was just whack to me as a knowledgeable basketball fan- to see that people make crazy statements with no substance to it.  i don't think statements like Kobe is the best or the Laker will win the West are ridiculous statements if you can provide some substance behind it... but i think that as an old school basketball guy - when you begin to disrespect your opponents is when you get beat...

Calm down dude. Fans do that. They talk trash about the other team, it's what they do. If you don't, your not a real fan. I like that part of it. I like fans bragging and talking trash when their team wins. Kobe fans talk so much because people are ignorant and say that Kobe is overrated or sucks, and a real basketball fan would know that saying that proves your ignorance. What do you expect Laker fans to say? "Yeah, Lakers are not going to be a contender this year, they lost last year so they have no chance this year."? No. They are going to talk as much trash as they can to support their team, it's what fans do. Laker fans do it, Celtics fans do it, Heat fans probably will next year, Cavs fans because of LeBron. It's just what fans do. I do get confused when people say a player in the NBA sucks, that doesn't make any sense to me. Any player that is in the NBA obviously does not suck. I'm a Lakers fan, but also a basketball fan, so I try not to give bias answers.

As a Lakers fan, I like to think that Kobe is the best in the NBA. Cavs fans say LeBron, Heat fans say Wade, it just depends on your favorite team. They even chanted MVP for Kobe in their game against Turkey, so Kobe obviously has a lot of fans. People that only talk bad about other teams are not real fans, they only follow one team, and in my opinion, to be a real fan, you have to appreciate what other teams and players do. About trades, if there is a rumor that a good player is gonna go to your team, and then gets traded to another, people are still going to say that their team is gonna be good even without him. You can't get mad because he went somewhere else, so I don't get why people get so mad when a player goes to another team.

Fakers fans = pathetic. it's a shame how these Faker fans copy my account and pretend they're me. at least us Celtics fans don't have to hide and trash talk behind a fake account because we aren't ashamed about how our team lost in the Finals. 2008 WORLD CHAMPIONS!!!

I am a Bulls fan and hate Boston more than the Lakers.  People in LA don't even have a football team, so you have to root for the basketball team a little if you are neutral.

I could care less about the teams, but the whole city of Boston thinks that they are better than anyone because they have a good basketball, football and baseball team.

Ironically, none of these people who are like this went to any of the Celtics games between 2003 and 2007.
