  1. Well, I will tell you this:  It ain't easy.  The difficulty comes from applying the shorthand characters to speaking speeds of 225 WPM.  It is tough to do, but it can be conquered.  You have to stick with it.

School officials will tell you that the course is 2 years.  It is not. It takes as long as it takes for you to be accurate at 225WPM. It may take 18 months; it may take 4 years.  It just depends on you.  When I started court reporting school, there were 30 people in my class. Six months later there were 12 of us left.  A year later there were 8 left.  Two years later there is 3 of us left.  Four years later there are is only one other person that started with me still working at it.

    The graduation rate is 3%.

Don't let that discourage you. If you want it do it, the money is well worth it.
