  1. Yes. The name literally means "fresh cheese" (with fromage blanc meaning "white cheese").

  3. It depends on what you mean by fresh.  Was it made this morning or yesterday?  Only if you got it from the farm.  

    In this instance the term fresh means unaged.  What you get at the market could actually be a few days, possibly a week, old.

  4. It's just French for fresh cheese.

  5. It means it hasn't been aged and is therefore milder. Unless stipulated,  it also means it hasn't been pasturized.

  6. Well yeah, the texture is creamy like yogurt.
