  1. If you live in California global warming is not decades away; it is here now.

  2. Carbon Offsets are a method of paying for others to undertake actions to reduce greenhouse emissions,

Several carbon offseting programs are available and projects are conducted to keep maximum carbon out of air.  some companies do sell carbon offsets.

My opinion is, it is not that no one is doing!! There are several companies who does.  In our childhood itself we have seen the WINDMILLS, a simple and good example for carbon offsetting.

Few tips to reduce carbon footprint at home, at work, and when travelling are

    - Only wash full loads in the washing machine and dishwasher.

    - Turn off appliances at the mains – leaving them on standby wastes electricity.

    - Cut down on cooking time by using lids on your pans.

    - Don’t overfill the kettle. Boil what you need

  3. They said that ten years ago.........

AGW is a trojan horse for global socialism.

  4. There is no way to prove global warming is real. We having been studying the Earth's climate for only 120 years or so. The Earth is billions of years old. To say global warming is destroying the Earth is like after the first day of the baseball season who is going to win the World Series. Yeah, you may be right, but you can't prove it. Scientist can't even agree on if drinking is good or bad for you. Just relax and enjoy life that is all that matters.

  5. Here is what some heavy hitters in the climate world have to say about 'man-did-it' global warming:

William M. Gray, Professor Emeritus and head of The Tropical Meteorology Project, Department of Atmospheric Science, Colorado State University:

"This small warming is likely a result of the natural alterations in global ocean currents which are driven by ocean salinity variations. Ocean circulation variations are as yet little understood. Human kind has little or nothing to do with the recent temperature changes. We are not that influential."  "I am of the opinion that [global warming] is one of the greatest hoaxes ever perpetrated on the American people."   "So many people have a vested interest in this global-warming thing—all these big labs and research and stuff. The idea is to frighten the public, to get money to study it more."

Tad Murty, oceanographer; adjunct professor, Departments of Civil Engineering and Earth Sciences, University of Ottawa:

Global warming "is the biggest scientific hoax being perpetrated on humanity. There is no global warming due to human anthropogenic activities. The atmosphere hasn’t changed much in 280 million years, and there have always been cycles of warming and cooling. The Cretaceous period was the warmest on earth. You could have grown tomatoes at the North Pole"

The bottom line is..... don't buy into the 'man-did-it' cause until there is scientific proof!

  6. Ignore? No. Get hysterical over the "natural cycle of the Earth? Why bother? WE have been on the planet, a relatively short time. Industry, even less.

The Earth was "doing" all this long before WE got here. IT will be "doing" IT, long after WE are gone.

Just because "someone" discovered how to measure/monitor some naturally occurring phenomena, does NOT mean WE have to "over-react" to it. IF "nobody" noticed IT, would "life" not go on to it's natural conclusion?

  7. The truth is that we have no idea. The models that "researchers" use can be made to reach any conclusion, depending on the values you substitute for the unknowns. There may be global warming, global cooling, or not much change at all.

Since we don't know what's happening, it would be irrational to leap into action to stop it. So, while we're still trying to figure out whether CO2 is bad for the atmosphere, we should continue to clean up known pollutants, the kind that put smog in our cities, make groundwater unsafe, etc.

  8. No.  It is occurring now.  There has been a 0.7 C increase in atmospheric air temp since the late 1800s as a result of human activity releasing billions of tons of CO2 annually into the atmosphere (and other gases, land use changes, etc.).  It has been happening for the past ~100 years and will continue to happen.  It is not an "instant" occurrence in some time frame (Not like in the movie "Day After Tomorrow").  It will only get worse as time passes.  That is what it is important to take actions NOW to reduce CO2 concentrations.  This will only slow the warming in the coming years, not stop it.  It will take decades of reductions in emission to stop AGW, but starting now can make the cost of mitigating for the impacts of changing climate and weather patterns much less than acting in a decade to solve the problems.

  9. its happening right now also at an alrming rate but by next 5 yrs it will show the adverse effects

  10. I agree with you, but did you know that decades ago the earth was much hotter than ever and there was no pollution, no factories, no cars to blame it on.  I am wondering what caused that.

  11. you are absolutely true. we are in a real danger of global warming. and each one of us are in a real danger. but each one also responsible for global warming.........

  12. Nope.  Its here now.  With the glaciers melting away for the first time in 15,000 years, there's no doubt about it.

  13. You think you can control the temperature of the entire earth with a couple of meaningless "carbon offsets?"  This delusion needs more than just one entry in the DSM-IV.

We're running out of padded rooms for you all.
