  1. yes and no. Yes because there is melting at the poles, but this is a function of nature that has been going on for millions of years. The earth is not a perfect body in a perfect system. And no, because the implication is that humans can affect the  outcome. As grandma used to say, this too shall pass.

  2. if we keep using too much water and electricity then yeah

  3. idk but i know that spelling counts.

and you dont have the brain capacity to discuss such a question

  4. Some scientists and scholars believe that it is, others say that is a natural phase.

  5. No. Climate change is real, though.  Global warming is an inaccurate name.  The world is getting dryer, resulting in colder winters, less rainfall, and hotter summers.  The world's fields that used to receive rainfall are now obsolete, because the rainfall is being relocated.  This will result in a global food shortage unless those brilliant Japanese researchers with giant supercomputers predict where the rain will go and plant more fields there.  This is only my theory, it doesn't really fit in with some of the events happening today (but it IS very plausible)

  6. Yes! , Some people who have studied global issues would say there was no such thing as global warming and it is all a big hoax. However, others disagree and believe that since the industrial revolution, we are having a negative affect on our environment

  7. yeah it's real.. anybody who thinks elsewise is a doofus..

the average global temperature is rising.. the cause how ever is debateable..

and to the person who brought it up.. i highly doubt leaving out a 'c' because it wasn't fully depressed on a keyboard is grounds for dismissal of one's intelligence

kevin you obviously don't know enough about the subject to poroperly argue a point..

global warming doesn't mean everything's going to get really hot..

if it's an oddly hot day in dakota, does that mean it's hot near you (unless you're in dakota)?

    no

different places will be affected differently.. had you known enough about weather patterns and meteorology you'd know that..

deserts are going to grow, rainforests get wetter, and evetually it will lead to a huge cold spell..

the person who said 'global warming is misleading' said it best...

  8. I think that the evidence is pretty solid that the average global climate now is warmer than in the recent past.  The question is one of how much and why.  Many also claim that it is a disasterous situation, but I think that is overreaction.   Change isn't of itself bad, and in fact should be expected.  Failure to recognize change and to adapt to it can be hazardous (is shortsighted, if you will), and certainly if man is driving the change at a rate much faster than should exist, there could be short term problems that make adaptation difficult, and there could be a lot of social and political stress as a result.

Shouldn't ignore the issue and pretend it isn't real, but also shouldn't overreact and think it is the end of the world.

  9. There is proof that global warming is happening, the debate is about the cause.

I've heard many claims that there'd be NO evidence for anthropoligic causes of global warming, but those were mainly by interest groups that are interested in industrial growth without constraints.

As for the hypothesis that sun activity increased and/or caused global warming: I know that this one has been falsified (read it in an issue of Max-Plank-Forschung here in Germany).

The greenhouse effect is also backed up by trustworthy studies and often attacked without proper arguments and studies.

  10. I feel that the earth takes care of itself.  If we are putting to much chemicals in it or on it or in the atmosphere it will eventually fix the problem.  I am not worried too much about global warming because for one thing, let's say you have a glass of ice water, if you let it sit and the ice melts the water doesn't get any higher, right? think the same is true with the iceburgs, if they melt the water wont get any higher.  I don't know about you but I've noticed on the weather channel they give you the high temp for the day and tell you when the highest temp was recorded for that day in history and most of the time it was over 30 years ago so I think global warming just a bunch of c**p our government is trying to feel us.
