I disagree with Dragon Breath.  First, any country with regional power in Asia is going to be a world player.  Second, because India's population and economy is growing at a faster rate than the rest of the world, it really can only improve its international position.

think about it...nuclear power, rising economy, and they are not too far behind from China.
