Is it Illegal in USA?

My husband has a restraining order but when he came to take his stuff he asked the property management guy to change the locks of the mail box. Now I dont have acces to my mail. He is the owner of the condo. I was wondering if this is illegal in the USA since he is preventing me from recieving my information ??

If it is his condo it is his mail box.   Unless the judge gave you specific rights to live there as if it were yours,  it is you who should move out,  not him.  

Since he has access to the mail box,  he probably has access to the condo.  It is pretty clear the condo manager will do what he wants.

I suggest you get out of there and find your own place so he does not know where you are.  By staying in his condo,  you just make it easy for him to stalk you and know what you are doing.

File a change of address form immediately. Inform the postal servivce in your city as to what has happened.

The deliberate withholding and/or opening of US mail that is addressed to another party is a violation of federal law.

The penalty for tampering with US mail is a maximum of 5 years in a federal facility and/or a $250,000 fine.

The US Postal Service takes mail tampering very seriously and strongly urges anyone who has been harmed in such a matter to contact them ASAP.
