  1. Oh, I don't know.  That may be tough.  Regular bread yeast is available and easy to find in the grocery store, but Brewers yeast may be another story.  If you are already in Switzerland, I would ask at a wine store or a beverage store, otherwise, why not just take it with you when you go?  I took a bunch of stuff with me when I moved there.  You may also want to try the Apotheke (the pharmacy) or the druggerie (sp.) (the drugstore for non-prescription medicine).  Just to give you an idea of how hard it can be to find something...I had a very hard time finding rubbing alcohol.  I ended up going to the drug store and sniffing a bunch of bottles that the druggist presented to me.  Finally, I ended up buying a small bottle of 100% alcohol and diluted it with water.  It cost me about $6USD.  My best advice:  Take it with you, if you can.

My standing joke is...I don't know how a country can exsist without Cool Whip in a tub.  Whipping cream comes in a can, like Redi-Whip, or you can whip your own, but Cool Whip just ain't there.  :)  Have fun and good luck.

  2. It would be called Brauhefe, but I don't know where to get it.
