  1. Yes it is rude, BUT DONT DO IT IN LONDON.

if you leave a 30% tip all in pennies then you have a penny problem.

  2. lol

    yes

    it would

and really annoying for the person to have to count all that out...

    id be pissed

    (good idea though =D )

  3. Haha!   I think it would be more bizarre than rude, but the server would probably be siort of annoyed.  It would be funny to videotape that.

  4. If they're rolled pennies, then no.  However, if you just dump them on the table out of an old gym sock which you had previously kept hidden in a back drawer, then yes, that would be rude.

  5. LOL not if its rolled up.

  6. I wouldn't consider it rude, but I would consider it frustrating for the waitor/waitress who u gave the tip to.  one, it depends on how much the meal cost, two, thats a lot of pennies!!!!!!  so ya, not rude, just frustrating for the waitor/waitress u gave the tip too

  7. If you had a 200 dollar meal, yes.

    A 20 Dollar meal, sorta

    A 10 Dollar Meal, no.

  8. Yes, the waitress/ waiter will have to find a person to dump this on so they won't have to carry it around (along with food, drinks) all night.  Why would you do that anyway?  I would accept it but I could get a twenty to thirty percent tip off someone else not s******g around with me.

  9. yep. i would be pretty ticked if i got a tip in pennies.

  10. Yup. It really tends to p**s them off when you do that. Anytime you give them money all in pennies. Really annoying, actually.

  11. I think it is rude, but if I was the waitress, I would be laughing once I came to pick it up.

  12. Where is it written down that it's rude? It is real currency, you know. I just wouldn't want to waste all that time counting it out.

  13. It's always rude to leave pennies.  The wairtress has to carry her tips around all night.  I dont even leave change.

The least you could have done was go up to the register and get larger coins.

  14. Depends on what resteraunt. If it is higher scale, then yes it is "frowned upon". But really, the waiter/waitress can cash the pennies out for bills. I'm sure, now-a-days no one will complain when they get money- no matter how it's presented to them. h**l, I would've taken a 20% Tip in Pennies when I was waitressing. Don't leave them in a plastic bag or a heaping pile on the table. At least be courteous to roll them- and if you are going to go that far as to roll them, why not take them into your local bank, or when you pay- ask your server to bring you some bills in exchange so you can tip. They'll either do it, or say it's not a problem and take the pennies as is.

  15. yes, tender muffin.  And if you don't think so you must be tender brained as well.  And as someone who has waited tables I can pretty much guarantee you had spit in your food once or twice!

  16. Oh, so that was YOU!  Lol!

The all in pennies part is what makes it rude, but they would probably prefer it over you not leaving one at all.  I know I would.  Seriously, though, take the pennies to the bank.

  17. horribly rude ---

  18. If you were to explain that you just cleaned out your coin jar, and offered the coins as a generous tip, I think any server would be delighted and amused.

But if you were to slap the coins down on the table and walk out, the server would be annoyed.

It's all in how you present it.

  19. I don't think so, It will be rude if you leave no tip at all!

  20. If it's a 20% tip no, but when it's all in pennies....well it depends. Was your meal a dolllar and you left 20 cents in pennies? If it is, the probably not, but if you left more than a dollar in pennies on the table, they probably yes because pennies are a pain in the **** to handle in large amounts!

  21. Yes and No. Would you like to receive a whole bunch of pennies?? Just think about that...it's still money but who wants a whole bunch of pennies??

  22. LMFAO, try dumping them into the water glass.

  23. Who cares, it's still money and there are cash registers there that the waiter or waitress can use to change it out.

  24. Well it's kinda messed up. you could make the waiter/waitress fell like sh*t, make em feel low, like they are a peasant or desperate. If I tell you "hey you want this hindered dollar bill, Yeah? here you can have it."  Then mush it in a pile of animal sh*t  how would that make you feel, I'm mean seriously. It's a bit degrading you know? And it's not really rude it more mean. The message you send even though you might not realize it, can be mean and hurtful. especially when it comes to waiters/waitresses, most of them get paid by their tips.

  25. I don't think so....at least your leaving a tip.

  26. 20% is good but not in pennies.

  27. Yes, unless of course your bill came to 50 cents or less.

  28. Depends on the service you received!!

  29. Not only rude, but juvenile.

  30. Hahaha! yes! If someone did that to me when I was working in the restaurant I was working in I wouldn't have been too pleased but 20% is a generous tip

  31. Yes, hundreds of pennies doesn't look as impressive as a few bills, and takes longer to pick up and count.
