the AFL paid for Ben Cousins' Rehab, which has proven to be a waste on money, when they would not subsidise Adam Raminaskis' cancer treatment?

  1. the way you put the question the answer is no its not fair

but i dont think ramma payed for any treatment we have medicare

  2. I agree with you100%.

    Society is like that.

  3. Iuno I heard that Cousy was gonna pay it back...iuno who said that, and I also heard it was WC that paid.

Anyway, I think that they would have to pay for Cousins' treatment because  one reason for it is from the stresses of AFL...but also because he is a public figure and because such a high profile name was on drugs, the AFL couldnt just do nothing when te media and supporters are watching them closely. Probably because it is more controversial and because of them trying to improve their drug policy and look good.

I think Raminaskis' treatment should have been paid for, but the AFL really doesn't have to because it doesn't have anything to do with them. Its like if someone has cancer, would their employer pay for their treatment?? Probably not, and this is exactly the same. He's an employee and the AFL arent responsible for paying it.

However, I personally dont believe tat since these are public figures and stars, the AFL should assist them both. =]

EDIT: Jai you don't know what you are talking about. Ive been told what happened with cousins and you are wrong. as for Raminaskis' treatment, that is not the AFL's responsibility. They don't have a policy on Cancer. Who says that one man deserves to go die and the other can live a nice life all expenses paid??? You cant make that judgment, especially when you have never met Cousins. I think the treatment should have been paid for, yeah sure, but you shouldnt say Cousins should die. They are both people, dude.

  4. Yes..

  5. First of all, the first two people who answered must be some great drug users. Oh give me everything cause I'm a poor little junkie and are proud of the fact that a Junkie like Cousins could get his rehab for free, just like the "yella fellas" who are always crying for compo and are now well on the way with this drop kick Rudd in charge.

Second of all as a retired professional athlete I am disgusted with the concept the ALF has gone with. It is no secret in the sporting field that drugs are rife. I mean at my club we had a Doctor called Dr Pot, you get hurt, you go to the change rooms and then to the car park for a bong or two with a fully qualified doctor. It is your choice to do it and it is your problem if you end up with an addiction. I mean Cousins was greedy or his club doctor was dumb and didnt offer him the pure stuff you get on prescription, and yes it does happen I have been there and seen it. Cousins was stupid enough to go into society to find his drugs, why does he have no support from the players, clubs, officals and AFL because theyare all p*ss*d off with him because new stringent compulsory laws will have to come in and the players will never be able to complete the schedule they have to. Why did they play shorter seasons in the early days because the only upper and downers and pain killers the players could get were alchol and pot due to the VFL's low profile.

To deny Adam Raminaskis proper private medical care for something he could not choose to have (and yes I know about Medicare) while a full blown junkie gets everything and still throws it back in the AFL's face I say it is totally screwed.

AFL GIVE RAMINASKIS THE PRIVATE MEDICAL CARE AND LET COUSINS DIE IN THE GUTTER!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. It should have come out of his own pocket
