If by pigeons, you mean the ones that you see in cities and farms, then no, it isn't illegal. They are one of the very few bird species that arent protected by the US government, some others being the house sparrow and European starling. However, it is illegal to kill mourning doves, which look alot like pigeons, so be careful.

In Texas you can legally kill pigeons.  Most places they are considered a nuisance bird.

"Wild Birds: All wild birds that migrate through or are indigenous to Texas, along with their plumage or other parts, eggs, nests and young are protected from harming, killing and/or possession by state and federal law except that European starlings, English sparrows, and feral pigeons may be killed at any time and their nests and eggs may be destroyed. "

No it is not illegal to kill pigeons because I guess theres alotof them around. It is however, troublesome if a neighbor is annoyed by the fact a pigeon is dead and complains to police, a year ago some friends and I were killing them with pellet guns and we got in trouble. Lesson learned, well not really :) Hope I helped you!

well you see and average pigeon killed by a car and if it was illegal some people would get in trouble for dumb reason

I think it's more of a moral question than legal question.

If you are killing pigeons, then you should assess why you are doing such a crazy and immature thing.
