It's quite normal.  I put some firelighters on mine and lit it.

You can't kill a doll but merely break them as they're not alive.

I don't think that its normal for any reason that anger or perhaps just getting to old for them and resenting that they represent youth.

I don't know anyone that's done this, but all people are unique.
