realize that the last 8 years did not create a better America?

Despite your conditioning, can't you at least look at the possibility that the dems deserve a chance to try a different approach?

  1. But the issue is what is that approach.  Voting just for the other guy is a very dangerous game and leads to buyer's remorse.

I am voting for a different approach (an approach that has disagreed with the current administration far more often than agree)....an approach that has been spelled out and talked about in detail.  From this alone, you know I am voting for McCain.

  2. we had their approach in the 70s and the 90s. In both cases it was an illusion of peace and very little security for anyone.

  3. Absolutely not.

Conservatives go by the mantra "Deflect, decieve, deny".

When asked about the worst terrorist attack on US soil happening under a Republican-controlled government, they deflect: "It was Clinton's fault!"

When asked about the greatest foreign policy blunder in modern history (the Iraq war), they decieve: "Saddam had WMD's!  No, wait, um, Iraq had ties to 9-11!  Oh, no, um, Al-Qeada trained in Iraq!  Oh, not that either, huh?  Ok, err, um, Saddam was a bad man and we'll be greeted as liberators!  They'll be giving us flowers in the street!  We'll be spreading democracy!  Yeah, that's it...spreading democracy!"

When asked about the bankrupt economy, they deny:  "People are having a mental recession".

The only alternative that Cons believe in is calling people who question them "traitors" and putting them in jail and *not* torturing them.

  4. "can't you at least look at the possibility that the Dem's deserve a chance to try a different approach?"

Hmm 2+ years under the Dem's.....

Ok we tried, you suck, go away now

  5. You are either new to politics or you fell asleep in class. These past 8 years were not a promise of a better American. A vision of dandelions and daffodils. We knew what we were up against and we knew that the choices were always a lesson on the lesser of 2 evils. We tossed a coin in the air and George won. Here it is 2008 and this time our backs are against the wall again. Al Gore, John Kerry and Barack Obama are a fast track to socialism. We chose hoping that in the wings, there existed a true Patriot devoted and driven for the concerns of American Culture and Ideals and not what was popular issues.

Choosing Bush was like applying the brakes on a car going over the cliff.

  6. I've always been right leaning - I do not consider myself a con - so ignore my answer if you're looking for responses from only cons.

In all honesty, I think both parties have strengths and both have weaknesses.  I see the democratic party as having stronger economic policies and republicans having stronger defense policies.  The two party system is why we have checks and balances in place.  Dems have lead congress for the last two years and have one of the lowest approval ratings EVER.  You cannot blame that on Bush.  Compare Bush's vetos to Clinton's vetos and you'll see who vetoed more (hint:  it wasn't Bush).  I am discouraged to see the congress waste the last two years.  Bush is a lame duck...why can't they get anything done?

  7. they wont admit their mistakes or defeat or bad choices, there is a lot of info on what all Bush has done to s***w things up and how his defiance to cooperate with congress and the old time republicans backing him right or wrong has stopped all progress~!

  8. I am much better off then I was 8 years ago.  I finished my education. I have a job I love and I am almost totally out of debt.  I worked hard to get all that.  It was never handed to me.

We have had a Republican President for 8 years and a Democratic Congress for 2 years.  Congress has a lower approval rating then President Bush and the lowest approval rating for any congress in history.  They were the change that democrats were looking for.  Do we really want more change?

  9. Republicans believe in a strong America threw the use of strong military and no diplomacy !!!!Does McCain really have a bat **** chance in h**l of winning ,just how would that be possible ,I suspect we are in for the surprise of our lives dino

  10. Ask yourself the Reagan and Clinton question,

"Are you better off now than you were 8 years ago?"

If not, then logic dictates against voting Republican.
