No, it's not.  Usually if you have to ask if something falls within the bounds of good etiquette then you know it doesn't.

I would say that if you have the proper evidence and the advice that they are giving could be putting someone in danger, then it is okay to send a polite message to them stating that their advice may be unsound, and possibly suggest some reading materials for them on the subject. But if they are merely telling their opinions, you should not bother them. Opinions are okay to have, even if they are different than your own or everyone else's.

On a side note, it is possible that the person could be a troll going around giving bad advice on purpose. There isn't a sure fire way to tell, but it's something to keep in mind, because depending on the person they could retaliate in ways you might not like.

If you are capable of being tactful in your written response I say go ahead. It can end up being a blessing to the person you are contacting.  This venue has few restrictions - others may not be so lax.  Be gracious, if possible. :)

No, an opinion is an opinion it is not a fact.  The same with advice.  Take it or leave it.

No, I don't think that would be cool.  If you have a problem with a specific answer, you can answer the question yourself and dispute the response.

Answers is a community where everyone is allowed to express their own opinion.

No, that is wrong. That is precisely why I blocked my e-mail. I had a stalker on here who would read my answers and e-mail me about how I was wrong. I had to not only block my e-mail address but make it so that my questions and answers are private.
