Get your hair dyed at the hairdresser?

Is it as harming as home permanent dyes?

I'm wanting it black (I'm a dark/Very dark brown).

Thanks, also I'm going to grow is waist length so I will be going to the hairdresser. I was only wondering because, if I like it, I'm going to keep it and I don't want to damage my hair too much.

  1. i know that lots of people do it themselfs at home but if i were you i would go to the hairdresser, its easyer, and also its not so stressful.

It also isnt such a big mess and if someone else is doing it that is experienced it will  turn out SO much better then what you would do yourself at home.

    good luck

    hope i helped.

  2. I don't know if it's less damaging but it is definately easier.  So many things can go wrong when you do it yourself.  Hairdressers have practice and make less mistakes.  So their less likely to mess something up that would damage your hair more.

  3. I have waist length black dyed hair - and I have done for the last 5 years or so.

I colour my hair myself with "live" blue/black hair dye by schwartz  from the supermarkets. It is a messy job, and a pain in the *** to be honest!! but the hair dressers try to charge me a lot more money because my hair is so long.

I can't afford to get my hair coloured at the hairdressers every month - so I do it myself. BUT If I could afford it - I would, because it's less messy, and much easier- also they might do a better job of it.

Make sure you ALWAYS use a good condtioner right from the roots to the tips of your hair. You especially need to be using condtioner when your hair is dyed.

  4. its waaaaay better to get it done at the salon!

its not as damaging, and although its more expensive, it comes out better! : )

  5. dye it at a salon because ur hair gets really damaged and it wont harm ur hair at a salon because they use treatments

  6. there both the same but hair dressers do it better

  7. Honestly its the same. I feel like my hair is healthier if I go to the hairdresser, but thats probably because they have better quality of stuff. If its your first time definately go to the salon.

  8. dyed at the hairdresser so that if they mess up you can either get your money back or get something for free....but they usually do a good job

  9. Lets color hair not dye it ok.. By the way store bought permanent color (wal-mart,target etc) is very harmful they have metallic color in it which is very unsafe. Considering the next time you get your hair colored it could come out so whacked do to the metallic. Please stick with a professional. Plus coloring your hair is not very damaging knowing the fact that it actually conditions while processing.
