Is it understandable

that I've always felt uncomfortable with guys around my parents becasue they always embarrass me and actlike I;nm a little kid and say things like " ooooh how cute our daughter's got a boyfriend" and even now I feel uncomfortable being affectionate with my husband around them (even just a simple kiss)becasue of how they always treated me.....I was even scared to kiss him on my wedding day I just gave him a quick peck...is that unusual

I think that almost everybody gets a little bit embarrassed when their boy friend goes over to the girls house to meet their parent's...seriously you can even see it in movies, shows, it is very typical...rarely people do not get embarrassed so you have nothing to worry about and you are not the only one trust me!!! haha you will eventually get over that stage!!!

I understand your feelings a great deal. I was raised by my grandparents, and was immature around boys.  I really didn't know how to act around them. But I met and married a wonderful man and we have known each other 18 years, and in November we will have been married 16 years. I haven't had a great deal of difficulty being affectionate with my husband when it is just us but my parents were very embarrassing to me when we dated. They also asked a lot of "How are you ever going to__? kind of questions. I believe your feelings are understandable, but don't let that get in the way of giving your husband all the love and attention he deserves, and the same goes for him. Make sure you tell him what makes you happy, and what you enjoy. I hope this helps!
