Is it vegan to...?

Question

Eat bread or another product that states that it has been manufactured in a place that uses eggs? But the product itself is vegan?

Personally I would eat it, but some feel that you'll be supporting the company that uses animal products if the consume it.

Well stating that it is made in a factory that uses egg products is an allergy warning. It doesn't mean that there is any egg product in it. But it's more of a personal call whether or not you want to eat it.

Yes, the product itself is still vegan. That notice is for people with allergies. It explains that the vegan food was made on machines that handled dairy/eggs in the production of other, non-vegan foods.

It's kind of like saying that a vegan burger was made on a grill that's used to cook meat. The veggie burger is still vegan. You're not increasing the demand for meat by eating it.

If it's not actually in the list of ingredients, I would eat it. Its a matter of personal choice. If their is eggs or dairy in the bread though, better to stay away from.

Look at it this way: it still isnt raising the demand for eggs.

It usually states that so that if someone has an allergic reaction(if someone were to have an allergy to eggs) they wont get sued.

That disclaimer is on there for people who suffer from allergies because of the possibility of cross-contamination.  It's just a way for them to cover their butts if someone has a reaction, but I don't personally feel that the product becomes non-vegan just because of shared equipment.  Buying vegan products send the message that there's a market for those products; not buying them because of a fear of cross-contamination makes it less likely that those products will make it to market or stay on the market.
