this survey is asking me what is the occupation of my last proffesional reference. I said that she is my manager, but it is asking what the occupation is right after I put that she was my manager. So, what should I put? Just manager again? she was my manager in a retail store.

  1. Manager is a title given to people whose occupation is to manage people to help run a business. There are many types of business in the environment. For example, bank managers, retail store manager etc.

  2. aren't they asking what the relationship is between you and your reference?

The relationship is supervisor (or friend, or family member), their occupation is "manager".

    Example: relationship: "father", occupation: "teacher"

    relationship "supervisor", occupation "store manager"
