Is mayweather scared?

to fight miguel cotto i keep thinking that he is dodging the fight and if he is as good as he says he is he shouldn't be dodging that one same with that other mexican fighter whose name escapes me

The man is scarred YES! He will retire not having fought any top 147 lbs guys in his weight division. Hatton, De la Hoya twice soon, Gatti, .... But I guess Baldomir was barely in the top 10, and judah was barely in their too. But thats it so far! People pretty much rank him lb for lb because he beat Judah, and Baldomir... I have never heard of a bad period for fans EVER. But this is one of the stupidest eras ever.

It has nothing to do with fear.  The track record from the media and fans has been the same through his whole career and he knows there's no pleasing everyone.  When Mayweather fought Baldomir everyone said that Baldomir was too big and strong and would be the one to end Floyd's streak...Floyd won easily and immediately all those people who said Baldomir would beat him started downplaying the victory and saying that Baldomir was never worthy of a shot.  Then he fights De La Hoya and everyone jumps on the bandwagon again until Floyd wins...then what happens?  Everyone says Oscar is over the hill and Floyd is ducking everyone else.  Then Hatton calls him out and ONCE AGAIN everyone is stoked.  Hatton is too busy and will hand Floyd his first loss because he's stronger and busier.  Floyd drops Hatton and immediately everyone is jumping on Cotto's bandwagon and dismissing the fact that they ever believed Hatton deserved a chance.  Floyd has come to realize the same thing that everyone else should realize by now because its RIDICULOUSLY OBVIOUS.  It doesnt matter who he fights because if he wins he never gets his due from the doubters.  Of course he's going to take the higher paying fights at this point.  Why take a fight with Cotto if its a no win situation?  If he wins then everyone will just starting saying Cotto hadnt earned the shot and Floyd was ducking someone else like Margarito.  If people are unwilling to give him credit for beating  worthy opponents and unwilling to allow him to build his legacy, then why not just make sure you get paid??

UPDATE: I never said Baldomir was a good fighter!  I knew from the second the fight was signed that Mayweather would make him look ridiculous.  But you cant deny that when the fight was signed everyone was saying that Baldomir was too big and was going to end Mayweathers streak.  Like I said...Maybe not everyone believed, but the vast majority of people are more than willing to believe in WHOEVER fights Floyd until he beats them...then all of a sudden everyone wants to talk smack and diss on Floyd for ducking the other guy...he cant win...if he wins then he should have fought someone else...the only way some people will ever be happy with a Mayweather fight is if he loses.

Albert P How is he ducking or scared to fight Winky Wright? I mean Mayweather started in 96' at 130lbs. Winky has been fighting between 154lbs & 170lbs (which was a bad idea IMO). He is ducking Cotto. But Winky, come on now. If there is one person that has been ducking Winky for years that would be DLH.

The risk is not worth the reward to Mayweather.  He can make more vs De La Hoya, who poses much less risk to him.  He cares less about proving he's the best and more about money.

Fraud Mayweather will never get into a ring with Miguel Cotto. Obviously Fraud Mayweather is afraid. He know that Cotto is better than him and is a high-risk fight. No doubt that Cotto is the best 147 champion.

i think he's scared but i also think that Cotto needs to call him out like Ricky Hatton did otherwise Mayweather aint gonna worry about fighting him.

and for YOUNG MULA he has all the reasons to be scared especially since he has no L's in his record not many fighters retire undefeated.

Dude mayweather is not scared.... how can you fight De La Hoya and be scared of Cotto. Nobody will beat Pretty Boy, and you have no reason to be scared when you haven't lost a fight.
