Is my coastal carpet snake well?

My snake is shedding at the moment and its not doing it in one piece. Should i be worried? its got all of its face off and its just flaky every where else is this normal?

This problem usually comes down to the humidity not being high enough. Whenever you see the snake coming up to a shed, just mist the enclosure every day with water.

If the snake is having trouble shedding the rest of the skin now, soak it in warm water for a few hours. The water should be deep enough to nearly cover it but not too deep.

Afterwards, let the snake crawl through a wet towel to help remove the pieces. You can also assist with this but don't forcefully pull any off unless its very loose.

Another problem that may have caused this is mites. If you notice the snake soaking alot and notice any small bugs on the snake or in its enclosure then you may have mites. It's most likely the humidity issue but this is just something for you to check on.

It should shed in one piece, but if it doesn't don't be too concerned, unless some of the scales stay attached to the snake.

no that isn't normal...the shed should come off in one piece...

Since your snake is having a bad shed take a plastic box, large enough for your snake to fit in it comfortably.  Get the short boxes for soaking snakes…the box should be about the height to go under a bed.  Drill several small holes along the sides at the top for airflow (this box can also be used as a feeding tub for your snake).  Put about a half inch or an inch of lukewarm water (about 80 Fahrenheit) and put the top on the plastic tub and “soak” the snake for about 3 hours (changing the water every so often if needed).  The reason to do this in a plastic tub with only a half inch or inch of water is because it's the humidity that this creates that helps the skin loosen and come off easier for your snake.

Give your snake more humidity give him a good soak and see if the shed comes off

It just means that the humidity in your tank is not high enough so give your python a good soak and the shed should come off.
